Breast

Breast lift and breast reduction in Seattle.

A lift reshapes and raises the breast. A reduction removes tissue as well, which many people choose for neck, shoulder and back comfort.

My note

A reduction is one of the operations patients thank me for most often, because it changes how the day feels, not only how it looks.

Both leave scars. I show you exactly where before you decide, because a surprise scar is a broken promise.

Who it suits

  • Breasts that have dropped after pregnancy, nursing or weight change
  • Neck, shoulder or back pain linked to heavy breasts
  • Bra straps that groove the shoulders, or rashes under the fold

What I will ask you

  • What bothers you day to day
  • Whether insurance has asked for documentation (for a reduction)
  • Your plans for pregnancy or nursing

The day

  1. General anesthesia in our accredited suite
  2. Usually two to four hours; your plan gives your time
  3. Home the same day or one night in aftercare

Recovery, week by week

  • First weekSoreness and swelling. Rest, short walks, a surgical bra day and night.
  • Weeks two to threeMany return to desk work. No lifting or strenuous activity.
  • Week sixMost return to full exercise when cleared.
  • Months to a yearShape settles and scars fade gradually.

A typical course, not a promise. Your own calendar comes with your plan.

Fee

From $ owner to $ owner

One written fee: surgeon, anesthesia and the surgical suite. Paying over time

What moves the fee within that range:

  • Lift alone, reduction, or lift with implant
  • Whether insurance covers part of a reduction
  • Anesthesia and facility time

Risks

Risks include scarring, changes to nipple sensation, difficulty breastfeeding, asymmetry, wound healing problems and, rarely, loss of nipple tissue. We go through each at your consultation.

No result can be guaranteed. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons publishes plain-language patient information at plasticsurgery.org.

A patient letter

I wish someone had told me years ago that the shoulder pain was not just how it had to be.

Questions

Will insurance pay for a reduction?

Sometimes, when symptoms are documented. We help you gather what your insurer asks for. Lifts are usually self-pay.

Where are the scars?

Usually around the areola and down to the fold, sometimes along the fold. I draw them for you at the consultation.
